National Adoption Month!

Spread the Word

National Adoption Month

Every November Adoption Associates celebrates National Adoption Month, which was officially established in 1995. In 1984, National Adoption Week was declared by President Reagan. Then, in 1995 President Clinton extended this week to a month. The origin of the observance was developed as a way to encourage the adoption of children in foster care.

Adoption Associates celebrates National Adoption Month by spreading the word of adoption through various methods. We often send our staff out to many areas of Michigan to hang up posters and share our materials with doctor’s offices and other places where pregnant women may be looking for help. Sometimes we request that churches and other charitable organizations post information about adoption in their bulletins or newsletters to raise awareness. Other times, we may reach out to area businesses for support of our Birth Mother Outreach Fund, Adoptive Family Grant Fund, or our Discretionary Fund to be used where most needed.

No matter the method, Adoption Associates believes in raising community awareness. Adoption is our passion! We are here to assist women who are considering placing their child for adoption, and families who wish to adopt a child.

Not flesh of my flesh
Nor bone of my bone
but still Miraculously my own.

Never forget for a single minute
You did not grow under my heart
but in it.
