Who Do I Call?

Our caseworkers are available 24/7.

Call us toll-free at 616-667-0677  or text us at 248-283-4673. Once you are connected with a caseworker, she will be there for you throughout the adoption process.

Your caseworker will provide information and support, and she will be there for you as you decide if an adoption plan is the right choice for you and your baby.

Make a Plan

Your caseworker will help you make an adoption plan. Your plan will include your preferences for things like:

  • What type of family you’re looking for; if they have other children, if they share common interests with you, if they share your beliefs, etc.
  • Whether you want contact with the family and baby after adoption.
  • A hospital plan for when the baby is born. What will you be comfortable with?

The details of your adoption plan are choices you will make based on what you feel is right for you and your baby. Your caseworker will be there to support you and answer all of your questions.

Pick a Family

Choosing just the right adoptive family for your baby is a big decision!

After you’ve created your adoption plan, your caseworker will show you detailed information and pictures of qualified couples who may be a good match for you. We have many approved families waiting to be chosen.

You can decide if they are a good fit for you and your baby, and you can meet them if you want to. Then you can decide how much contact, if any, you would like to have with them after the adoption.

Birth of Baby

Your caseworker will be in regular contact with you throughout the process, and will be checking on you as baby’s due date gets closer. She will be available for you when you give birth and will handle all of the adoption details at the hospital.

Adoption Associates will take care of all of the legal aspects of the adoption. Your caseworker will assist you with the forms you need to complete in order to release or consent to the adoption so your baby can be placed with the family you’ve chosen.

What It Really Means to Make an Adoption Plan

The terminology that we hear so often, “give up a baby for adoption”, is not really giving up a baby.

In all reality, when you “give up a baby for adoption”, you are choosing to give your baby the gift of a loving family and a home. You are choosing life for your baby. A life filled with hopes and dreams and opportunity – the childhood you wish for your baby.

You Pick the Family

When you ‘give up’ your baby for adoption, you are actually making a choice to place your baby into a family that you select, get to know, and feel comfortable with. A family who will not only love and provide for your baby, but one who will keep you in your baby’s life, if that’s what you want. You can get pictures and updates as your baby grows, and even have visits together.
