We are so thrilled since returning home from China with Miyah on November 8, 2006!! We talk daily about how we are happier than we ever thought we could be!!!! We are just so in love with this little girl—she has truly enriched our lives beyond words.
It sounds cliché, but we cannot remember what it was like to not have her be a part of our family. Maybe because she was so present in our thoughts for so long before we actually met her.
When we first announced our plans to go to China and adopt a baby, many people wondered what we were thinking. We were asked more than once by well-meaning people “Why? Your life is full and good! Why start over now? Your kids are almost grown … you are in the home-stretch!?” To be honest, during the long wait, we sometimes wondered this ourselves. “Have we thought this through? Are we romanticizing our memories of what it was like to have a baby?” But we knew deep-down that what we were doing was right. We persevered. We waited. And worried and waited some more. To all those that are still waiting, worrying, and wondering, I offer this: IT IS ALL WORTH IT!! Miyah has filled a little spot in our hearts that we didn’t even know was empty a few years ago. Our lives were full. Things were great. But Miyah is, quite simply, the icing on our cake!
Thanks a million, Adoption Associates, for helping us with our adoption of Miyah. I cannot put in words how much she means to us—and how much we appreciate your help!!
