Mark your calendar now to join us on Saturday, August 25, 2018 for the annual Touched by Adoption 5k run/walk and kids fun run at Bogue Flats Recreation Area in Portland, Michigan. Participants and teams of all ages and athletic ability are welcome! This is a fun family-oriented event that you’re not going to want to miss!
And on Friday, November 9, 2018 we’re hosting the ‘Uniting Hearts – Creating Families’ Fall Gala at the Goei Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This enjoyable evening will also include a fabulous dinner, silent auction, and inspirational keynote address by well-known adoption advocate and adult adoptee Angela Tucker. Domestic Outreach and Education
We continually strive to be sure that women facing unplanned pregnancies have ready access to positive, life-affirming information about adoption. So we’re continuously reaching out to places like crisis pregnancy centers, schools and universities, clinics, hospitals, and drug treatment centers. We’ve developed and disseminated compelling posters and flyers that convey an adoption-positive message. And we work hard to have a strong online presence, where the majority of women facing unplanned pregnancy first search for information.
International Program Development
We are constantly exploring the possibility of new adoption programs around the world; for example, we’re currently in process to become registered in India. And where possible, we also support projects that provide ongoing care for children who are not eligible for adoption.
Adoptive Family Grants
AAI offers a limited number of grants to families facing unique and unexpected financial challenges related to adopting an older child, a child with special needs, or a sibling group. We need ongoing donor support to continue offering grants to these special families.
