Tami began working for AAI’s Lansing office in 1999 as a receptionist. She is now the office manager for the Lansing office. Tami attended Lansing Community College and says that the majority of her career has been in settings that serve children. Tami is very interested in technology and enjoys learning new programs, troubleshooting, and resolving computer related issues. Tami says, “Although my interaction with clients is limited, I look at it through the eyes of Christ, in 1 Corinthians 12:12 ‘A person has only one body, but it has many parts. Yes, there are many parts, but all those parts are still just one body. Christ is like that too.’ The adoption process has many parts, and my role is only one part that brings about the culmination of a child being placed with their forever family. The most rewarding part of my job is when a family brings their new son or daughter into the office for a visit, and seeing their joy”. Tami is very involved in church activities, wearing several hats including; church secretary, deaconess, jr. church leader, Sunday school teacher, bible study leader, and social program chairperson. She has been married to Skip for 28 years and they have two adult children. They have a daughter, Amber, and a son, Jason, and two grandchildren, Madalyn, and Jennabelle. Tami enjoys reading, traveling, camping, kayaking, and any activity that involves being in or on the water.
