Shelly is a Licensed Bachelor Social Worker with a degree from Calvin College. She began working with Adoption Associates, Inc. in 1996 as a pregnancy caseworker, helping birth parents through the adoption process. While her main role was as a pregnancy caseworker, she also worked with adoptive families writing home studies and providing post placement supervision, and spent some time assisting with marketing and writing projects before moving into her current roles as Legal Coordinator and Licensing Coordinator. As the Legal Coordinator for the Domestic Program, she works behind the scenes completing and filing all the paperwork necessary to the adoption process. She works closely with courts throughout the state scheduling release hearing for birth parents, filing adoption petitions for adopting parents, and making sure all parts of the law are followed for the protection of our clients and the security of the completed adoptions. As the Licensing Coordinator, Shelly stays abreast of Michigan licensing rules and regulations and ensures agency policies and procedures meet or exceed licensing standards. In her free time, Shelly is a busy wife and mother of two energetic boys. When she has free time, she enjoys reading, watching football, and exploring area parks with her boys.
