Tami began working for AAI’s Lansing office in 1999 as a receptionist. She soon became the Lansing Office Manager, and more recently, the Information Technology/Social Media Department Supervisor. Tami says that the majority of her career has been in settings that serve children. Tami loves the challenge that technology presents, and enjoys learning new programs, troubleshooting, and resolving computer related issues. Tami says that creating, and gathering content for the agency social media platforms gives her the opportunity to express her creative side. She enjoys being part of the “front-end” of the adoption process as she consults with families who are just starting their adoption journey. “Although my interaction with clients is limited, I look at it through the eyes of Christ, in 1 Corinthians 12:12 ‘A person has only one body, but it has many parts. Yes, there are many parts, but all those parts are still just one body. Christ is like that too.’ The adoption process has many parts, and her role is only one part that brings about the culmination of a child being placed with their forever family. Tami is very involved in church activities, wearing several hats including; church secretary, deaconess, jr. church leader, Sunday school teacher, bible study leader, and social program chairperson. She has been married to Skip for 37 years and they have two adult children, and two grandchildren. Tami enjoys reading, traveling, camping, kayaking, and any activity that involves being in or on the water.
