What Help Can I Get During Pregnancy?
Pregnancy can bring extra costs. You may need help getting to doctor visits or have concerns about housing, food, medical care, or other needs.
Michigan law allows certain types of support for birth mothers making an adoption plan. The help you receive depends on your needs and the rules that apply to you. You may qualify for help with rent, transportation, medical care, daily needs, housing, and counseling during pregnancy and for up to six weeks after placement.
Do I Have to Pay for Adoption Services?

You Have the Choice
The adoption services we provide allow a birth mother to make decisions about her adoption plan. If a birth mother chooses adoption, she will create her adoption plan with the help of her caseworker and she will choose the family that she wants to adopt her child. She will choose the amount and type of contact she would like with the adoptive family during her pregnancy and after the adoption occurs.
